FHS Seniors and parents of FHS Seniors

Thank you Class of 2026!

Seniors who are members of the National Honor Society, Knights of the Round Table, and the top 20 percent of the class are recognized in the printed Fairview graduation ceremony program.

The top 20% of the class is reviewed by the administrators using both weighted and unweighted GPA. The GPA cutoff varies from year to year depending on the cumulative GPA of the graduating class. The cumulative GPA reviewed is for 7 semesters of work. Because the last semester grades for a senior are not available, the qualifying ends in December.

Students are distinguished by the color of cord conferred and worn during the ceremony. The color of the cord for the following designations is :

• Summa Cum Laude (Top 2% of the class - approximate) - Silver Cord

• Magna Cum Laude (Next 10% of the class - approximate) - White Cord

• Cum Laude (Next 20% of the class - approximate) - Black Cord

In addition to the above academic cords, there are three other cord distinctions:

• Gold Cords: IB Diploma graduates

• Purple and Gold Cords: Latin Honors

• Green Cords: Bi-literacy Honors

Some awards are presented at the Fairview Knight of Excellence, a ceremony held at the end of each school year. These include awards conferred by student organizations and academic departments which do not host their own events for recognition. This evening also recognizes those seniors who have distinguished themselves through exemplary accomplishments in academics, athletics, service, and leadership. To ensure a smooth process, begin at least one month before your earliest application due date. For college transcript requests, Fairview employs the Green Sheet - Transcript Request Form, available in the Counseling Office.

Official, Mid-Year, & Alumni

The Official Transcript is record of your high school courses and  grades sent directly from Fairview to a recipient organization. It is accompanied by the School Profile,  which provides summary information about Fairview's student body, course offerings, grading system and test performance statistics.

When you apply to colleges in the fall of your senior year, most  colleges require an Official Transcript to assess your performance from  9th-11th grades. Colleges may also require a Mid-Year-Transcript, a record of your 12th grade fall semester courses and grades, and will always require a Final Transcript after you graduate from high school.

College admissions counselors and scholarship organizations use the accompanying School Profile to determine your standing within the context of opportunities provided by your high school. For all Common Application colleges, counselors  attach a School Report (also known as Secondary School Report) to the Official Transcript.
