Illya Kowalchuk

Hailing from the suburban wilds of Long Island, Illya avoided schoolwork by playing outside, reading comics, and mastering video games. After Illya earned a BA in History, as well as an Education Certification from CU Boulder, and finally, an MA from Lesley University in Cambridge, he began his teaching career. Illya's been fortunate enough to teach middle school for over a decade in both Boulder and Guatemala City, be a stay at home dad, and co-found Pop Culture Classroom and Denver Comic Con. He's thrilled to be teaching math at Fairview and to watch the mountain bike team drop him on every climb.
