Ash Mattys

Hello! I'm Ash Mattys and I'm an English Language Arts Teacher here at Fairview High, teaching both Pre-IB 9 and Pre-IB 10. I'm absolutely thrilled to be a Knight this year! I have a Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus in secondary literacy education, a Bachelor's Degree in Communication, and a certification in Peace & Conflict Studies. My lifelong passion has always been to teach the art of language to young people, to guide them into becoming empowered citizens of whichever communities they choose to belong.

In my personal life, I am crazy about spending time with my family! My husband is a biology teacher at Centaurus High School, so we love swapping stories and think-tanking pedagogical ideas together. I have two sons: Jett (11yo) and Ridge (3yo). We love going on road trips, attending Denver Nuggets games, hiking the gorgeous trails of Boulder, and having BBQs with our neighbors, family, and friends.
