Alternatives to College

A four-year college degree may be a logical next step for many high school graduates, however, there a growing number of alternatives which may be better choices for some students. The rising cost of college, and student loan debt are important considerations, but there is also a growing list of careers that do not require a four-year degree.  Community colleges, online classes, coding boot camp, technical schools, apprenticeships, joining the military, and service learning during volunteer gap years can all provide job training for these careers.
