Fairview High School Social Studies: Shaping Informed Citizens

Social Studies integrates disciplines like anthropology, economics, geography, history, government, and current events to promote knowledge and civic engagement. At Fairview, students explore a range of subjects, including psychology and sociology, while also drawing on content from the humanities, mathematics, and natural sciences.

Purpose

The main goal of Social Studies is to help students develop the ability to make informed decisions for the public good in a culturally diverse, democratic society.

Multidisciplinary Approach

Social issues such as health care, crime, and foreign policy require a broad understanding. Social Studies prepares students to analyze and address these issues from multiple perspectives.

Aligned with the National Council for Social Studies and Fairview High School’s courses.
