Overview of Science Fees and Their Impact on Learning

The science department would like to provide a brief overview of how the science fees for your child’s class will be utilized. These contributions play an essential role in enhancing the hands-on learning experience and ensuring that students have access to necessary materials. Here are some of the key areas where the fees will be used:

  • Lab Supplies:

    • Materials for experiments such as chemicals, glassware, and safety equipment (goggles, gloves, etc.)
  • Project Materials:

    • Items like poster boards, building kits, and models for science projects
  • Technology Resources:

    • Software, tools, and equipment for experiments involving data collection and analysis
  • Consumables:

    • General classroom supplies like paper towels, test tubes, batteries, demonstration supplies
    • Replacement/repair of worn lab supplies used throughout the year
  • Classroom Materials:

    • Course workbooks provided to each student in certain classes
    • Workbooks contain notes templates, problem sets, unit reviews, and animation activities to assist students in organizing, practicing, and studying the curriculum
